More boy pictures

Because you can’t have too many, can you?

At playtime last night I took some more pictures before we gave the boys a treatment for mites. This was the usual spot-on treatment which all rats seem to hate, probably because it makes their fur sticky and spiky. The boys were no exception, Cromarty in particular being very bad-tempered about the whole thing and going around afterwards making grumphing noises while looking like an angry ginger hedgehog.

 

Fitzroy still gets a bit of a gunky eye but none of them are otherwise sneezy or snuffly. Unless there are any other symptoms there isn’t much that can be done about it – though I may try bathing the eye once he gets a bit less wriggly, if it doesn’t clear up by itself.

The girls are doing well, Pinch seems to be holding her own with the youngsters for the most part, though Sirocco really doesn’t like her and tries to cause trouble every time she gets chance. We have to keep an eye on things there but mostly they leave her to her own devices, and as long as she gets to the food and water (which she does) I’m not going to worry too much. She is better off where she is than in a cage by herself.
