The new girls

We picked up our two new girls today. They’re from Beltane Rats and were born on Dec 25th, so we’re trying to think of suitably seasonal names. Everyone else has been “confined” to the bottom half of the Explorer and the new girls have moved into the top half.

The cage looks like this:

Youngsters upstairs, older rats downstairs. The youngsters will get a half shelf once we find something else to fill in the corner of the cage tray where the access hatch goes.

The girls had a good explore, and I took the chance to get some quick photos:

"There's other rats down there, I can smell 'em!"

Not the best photo, but you can see the white markings on Black Irish girl's chest.

And here's Agouti Berkshire girl's white belly.

The older girls refused to emerge but Hawkeye reluctantly agree to have a picture taken:

We’ll be getting them out for a run this evening so will try and get more pictures then.

  1. Lovely pics and nice healthy looking rats. The new girls have very shiny coats as I’m sure your others do so I look forward to more pics:)

    Thank you 🙂
We took more pics this evening at playtime – I’ll probably post some tomorrow.
