This took longer than it should have done!

Finally, I have completed and published the second edition of The Little-ish Book of Rats. Just at the moment, it’s available through Lulu at but all being well it should be on Amazon before long – that will certainly be easier for people in the UK.

Part of the trouble was knowing when to stop writing and stop tweaking what I had already written. The rest of it was trying to redesign the cover. I ended up abandoning the original cover design and using this:

That’s a toy rat, in case you were wondering.

And I made something similar for the back cover.

Now I can stop thinking about it for a while. At least until I think it’s time for a third edition…

Congratulations on publishing! Sadly won’t be available here for Lord knows how long 😦

  2. Congrats on the publication, that’s so cool!! I’m thinking of self/e-publishing a collection of narrative nonfiction pieces, do you feel positive about your experiences with Amazon/Lulu?

Thanks – Lulu is fairly easy to use, but if you want to do it all for free you need to be aware of which bits they’d charge you for. They do guide you through the process very well, though, and there are templates you can use for text and covers. Amazon is a little frustrating just now as the second edition isn’t on there yet *drums fingers* but it’s worth ticking that box as people are much more likely to buy from Amazon, as a known and trusted name. Good luck!
